Other Club Involvements

  1. The Club arranged for the donations of two (2) fire trucks from the Rotary Clubs of Narashino and Narashino Chuo, both of District 2790, Japan. One unit was turned over to Lapu-Lapu City and the other unit to Mandaue City.
  2. “ERUF” – Raised funds to enable the Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation, Inc. (ERUF) to purchase its first ambulance.
  3. RCCF was formerly appointed as conduit for humanitarian donations from Japan and other countries fororphans and street children in Cebu such as those in the care of Mother Theresa’s Missionaries of Charity in the Pasil-Ermita district; Sto, Niño Orphanage in Sibonga, Cebu the calamity victims of the killer flood in Ormoc City in 1994, the Pinatubo victims in Pampanga, the typhoon victims in Mindanao, the fire victims in Sibonga and the recent landslide victims of Guinsaugon, Leyte.
  4. “In Memory Of Those Who Fought and Died” – Built two-million-peso concrete chapel in Sitio Simñga, Poro Camotes Is., Cebu as a memorial to Filipino, Japanese and American soldiers who lost their lives in Camotes Islands during World War II, with funds provided by RCCF Honorary Member Takeshi Shimizu, a survivor and war veteran from Tokaoka City, Japan.
  5. “Music Conquers All, Too” – co-sponsored with the Rotary Club of Cebu West, RCCF’s Mother Club, a project to upgrade the musical instruments of the Cebu Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Long Island Symphony Orchestra.
  6. “REACH Out with Chad” – co-sponsored with the parents REACH Foundation a dinner benefit concert featuring Cebu’s home grown talents “Chad Borja – to raise funds for the completion of the REACH Center.
  7. Sponsors/facilitates regular “Celebrate Life Parties” for Children with cancer of Kythe Foundation Children with Autism of REACH Center
  8. Instrumental in making the Kythe Foundation for children with cancer and REACH Center for children with autism as beneficiaries of concerts.
